The Healing Power of Psychedelic Ceremony/Journey

Indigenous cultures on every continent have used sacred plant medicines which are psychedelic inducing agents to move us beyond the ordinary reality of the ego/left brain and to connect us more deeply with the inner self as well as connection with the divine.

The ego is meant to be the GPS of our lives, but not to be in the driver's seat. Our right brain/emotions/creativity/deepest wants, needs and desires should be at the wheel of our lifepath.

Many people in western culture have used both entheogenics (psychedelics like Mushrooms/LSD/Ayahuasca) and empathogenics (such as MDMA) in social situations. musical venues and other recreational venues for enjoyment.

However, when used intentionally in ceremony with a knowledgable and experienced guide, psychedelic journeying offers enduring and transformational benefits.

Psychedelics are just one of many modalities available to support people in resolving difficulties, overcoming depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress.

Other tools that have been found to be valuable and effective are: Psychotherapy, Breathwork, Somatic Work, Meditation and Mindfulness.

My background of 40 years as a psychotherapist combined with my shamanic training and my personal/professional studies of psychedelics equips me to offer a comprehensive combination of evidence-based tools to support people moving through the 'stuck places' in their lives.

This approach is gaining support nationally and internationally.

The National Institute of Mental Health and the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies have conducted extensive multi-level research programs using psychedelics and empathogenics to assist with resolving treatment resistant anxiety, depression, PTSD and many forms of addiction. These studies have been successfully replicated and are now being tested in the generalized population.

In 2023 Oregon became the first state in the United States to develop a program where psilocybin based therapeutic experiences are legal and sanctioned to support individuals in resolving issues with anxiety and depression.
